Fitness assessment - October 2007

» by gubernatrix in: workouts

I am back in the gym this autumn after a spring and summer of outdoor sports and activities. I moved down from London to Cornwall in the summer and I have just recently joined a new gym. They were offering free fitness assessments so I thought I would take advantage and see where I am at this moment in time.

My stats were:

1 mile run: 7 mins 47

Then max sets of:

Press ups: 51

Pull ups (wide grip overhand): 2.5

Dips: 14

Sit ups: 70

Sit and reach: 16cm

I am fairly pleased with the press ups and the dips. The pull ups obviously need work. I tend to neglect them in favour of chin ups (with underhand grip) which are easier.

The run went a bit awry as I was expecting to do sub 7 minutes but I chose a starting speed on the treadmill that was too slow.

I will aim to do a follow-up assessment in 6-8 weeks.
