There is so much going on in the world of Gubes and in the world of strength and fitness in general that I want to share with you, so I’ve started a newsletter to help you keep track of it all.
If you want to receive this newsletter direct to your inbox, sign up using the form over on the right hand side.
Newsletters will also go up on the site under the ‘News’ tab after they have been sent out.
I’d like to keep it global, although since I am based in the UK there will be a bit of a UK bias. So help me solve this problem: let me know what strength activity is going down in your part of the world. Been to any events recently? Belong to any groups holding it down in a distant land? Drop me a line and tell me your story. You could be featured in a future newsletter.
For now, enjoy the first of many packed updates right here.

Will there be a poetry column? How about gossip?
Here’s both. Cheers from your Palo Alto correspondent.
Man bites dog.
London has fog.
Gubes meets Kettlebell,
Cuddles, snogs.
Thus immortalised, I can now die!
Not sure a poetry column will go the distance but it’s a nice thought.
Remember Earle Liederman, Gube! He used to do something like that! It would be a nice throwback!
Cheers,
Justin
Sorry to see you go, but am looking forward to your insights on deadlifts.
Well, I didn’t know that!
According to an article on Natural Strength, “Between workouts he would occasionally read some of his own rather sappy poetry over the air, thus proving that he was as sensitive as he was strong. The ladies ate it up.”
