Hi folks!
Happy new year to you all! I hope you are excited about the training adventures ahead and the strength and fitness gains we are all going to make over the next twelve months!
Gubernatrix workshops
My aim for 2010 is to start passing on my enthusiasm for strength training in person, through workshops and seminars. There’s a lot to do to make this happen but I thought I would put it out there! I also want to do more on a practical level to get more women into strength training, so expect some ideas to be emerging over the coming months.
More Dan John…
Just to fire you all up for the new year, check out my review of Dan John’s recent two-day seminar at Informed Performance in Ireland. It was amazing to meet him and we had a packed two days of knowledge. I’ve tried to reproduce as much as possible so that we can all benefit from his wisdom and insights. There’s also a video clip of me falling over while trying to snatch, since we can all benefit from a good laugh as well.
Much of the material is contained within his latest DVD set, so you can get the Dan John seminar experience in your living room if you didn’t make it to the seminar. I have got some new stock of the DVDs in the shop but snap ‘em up because they will go!
New style clubs and kettlebells
I now stock Indian clubs along with the power clubs. The Indian clubs have a wider base – more of a ‘Fred Flintstone’ style club than the slimmer power clubs. Both styles perform in a similar way however. The Indian clubs are more old-fashioned, if you wanna rock the ‘oldtime strongman’ look! Visit the clubs department.
Also worth checking out are my new style kettlebells. The kettlebells are the same competition standard steel bells I have always sold, but with a slightly different paint pattern. W00t!
World of Gubes
As editor of the new FK.UK functional fitness website, which is launching on 18th January, I’ve been pretty busy getting the site up and running. I’ll pass on the link once we’ve launched.
I’m also proud to say that Gubernatrix.co.uk has become an FK.UK Associate. This doesn’t mean much to you the reader at the moment but it will help Gubernatrix to grow and offer you more in the future.
